The art and music department collaborated on a festival focusing on diversity on Thursday, Dec. 10. The festival featured art by several classes (-Art 120 Design , -Art 132/232 Life Drawing, -CHC Art Appreciation 103 -3 sections and -Valley College Art Appreciation 103), live music by professors & music students from different ethnic background. Ana Gonzalez Jorgensen, CHC alumnae, had a short concert of traditional Mexican music and Dr. Gary Williams performed traditional Japanese music from Okinawa. Clubs participated as well, including the Obsidian Dance Club, Manga and Get Illustrated. The festival also featured a screening of “White Like Me,” followed by a lively panel discussion moderated by former professor Judith Ashton. Panelists were Dr. Ericka Paddock, Aaron Burgess, Jan Harvey and Robert Brown.
